All buttons i handled, does not matter what time period or which Godet mark on the back or material used, got a total likeness in manufacture.

For example, the always square pin that is soldered to the "button disc" got a weird hole in it. Only explanation i can come up with is that the hole worked as a "holding point" when soldering the pieces together. See pic

Found an interesting GODET mark which has VERY much in common with the GODET mark seen on the reverse of Godets' 1870 EK1's...

It's a mark on a piece of tableware (in this case a spoon) but the description on the very good Jewellers Maker Mark site I just found HERE .. is in German so I can't put a date to it. It appears to be very early (1770?)

The image is copy protected so I can't paste the close-up but you can see a much better close up of it HERE. The later and more familiar version HERE is dated 1880 and is the one found on the EK's.

Of great interest to me was that it is the first time I have seen a Godet maker mark split in half like this. It appears to be one stamp, rather than two seperate parts, but there was plenty of room to put a more traditional one-line 'GODET' mark on the handle of the spooon, so why split it up like this?

It seems Godet have not finished confounding us yet!

                      Great additions, Carl and Don.

So Don, can you put an approximate date on that award? Freikorps, so obviously between the wars. Any way to get more specific? Also, any chance of an accurate measurement of the height in mm?

I will add a couple of photos lifted from other members. I am sorry that I can't credit owners, since these come from this thread, in which the original owners' names are already lost.

This one is an 1870 EK2 Halbgroße:

This one is the crown and crossed swords of the HoH:

Interesting that J. Godet and Genbrüder Godet made the same kind of simple buttons.
                      Best regards,

I do a mistake in my Post #187:

Not Anneliese Klietmann (Die Ordenssammlung) ask Jucker to make some new HoH in the 60ties!

In June 1960 ask Dora Godet the company of Juncker to make some (Groß-)Komtur-Crosses and breaststars of the HoH in order of the "Vermögensverwaltung des Hauses Brandenburg-Preussen".

                            Greetings
                            Uwe

                                Hi Trevor,
It is dated approximately to early 20ies. Pls find some more info on this badge from Klietmann book!
