The bottom button has failed in its Combat Mission..... It has been Noted.
Genosse iannima, is well aware of the importance of doing it up.
I'm just waiting for the other odds and ends and then I should have a complete summer and winter impression circa 1970's - 1980's
Though there is one thing that's a bit hard for me to get : A set of East German AK furniture ... the plastic type. Since all the sellers I've found thus far only ship within the US

I'm planning on modding it to fit an airsoft rifle anyway , since deactivated AK's are nonexistant in South Africa

Mrs. Jkeegen would not be pleased if my DDR collecting turned into a Waffenbruderschaft . . . although she won't know the difference between the strichtarn of the NVA, CSLA, and Polische Armee

How to wear stuff : sizes, style
I have questions about sizes and styles. How to wear the strichtarn uniforms for it to be correct? Do I have the right sizes? Most of the stuff in combat uniform I got is 48M, amd I think it's ok but maybe a little bit short for me (I'm 1m77, 75kg); anyway when I look at NVA pictures it seems that sometimes soldiers of the NVA wear the summer combat uniform really close to the body, arms really short, and sometimes not, they have larger/bigger jackets. In the other hand My KG jacket is 52m and it feels really too large. It's possible that it depends also on the style of the period (people used to wear clothes really close to the body in the 70's for example). Do you have opinions/suggestions?

A little sample pics of some NVA officer students (front row) and some NVA reservist officers (back row) in summer FDA. I am on the right in the front row. Cheers, Torsten.Attached Files

Genossen torstenbel,
I now see that before I just deploy at a gigs as KdA I can send some time as a Reservist if I wear a lower rank for my age..... apart from their age and waist's was there any other way of identify them from other NVA Genossen?.
Thanks Genosse torstenbel for the reminder....
Are you in this photo by chance?, your grateful public await...
