It is with relief that I have noticed the continuing absence of the Sportbekleidung from the re-enacting circuit...
    Genosse iannima,
I too would defend this Formula to the last round and last man, not a step back!......

Why of course I am. Perhaps it is clearer in this image:

Your political perception is always highly regarded Genosse. That is probably my favorite uniform that I own. The obviously photoshopped image, on the other hand, took way too long for me to get in the habit of doing regularly. I don't know if it's that I don't have the patience someone like Ehrentitle has, or if it's just because I am using the Linux knockoff. In any case, I think I'll stick to finding local backdrops and using what I have.

Kevin - It's a very good job, the trigger guard however is a give away since you can still see the original background within it. I don't have the full Photoshop, but rather one of the lesser versions that was bundled with my software package when I bought my last computer. I usually can bang something out like this in about 15 minutes with Photoshop. But have not been up to it, or anything else lately because of severe seasonal allergies the last few days.

There's also a Mode that "Flattens" the cutout and pasted image into the background, which upon being used, creates the impression the image actually is a part of the background.

I actually used "Gimp" which has somewhat of a convoluted interface. By the time I got to the MPi I was so sick of cutting things out that I just completely ignored the trigger guard. And in any case, I didn't intend it to look 100% believable anyway.

I can relate! For those not living in Virginia, that "green smog" is pine tree pollen. And it coats EVERYTHING outdoors in a thin layer of green dust. I've had to run my windshield wipers on the pickup the last two days just to see out of the windshield. When it rains there are green pools of sludge in the streets and gutters.

But for me that's a good sign, because the arrival of "green smog" signals the end of the severest part of my allergies.

Nothing special in these photos but I attended a living history event last weekend called "Military Through Time" at Marrietta Mansion in Glen Dale, MD. Uniform of the day was Felddienstuniform Nr.1 So., targeted time period was 1985, and the unit portrayed was the 16th Mot. Schutzen. For the most part, displayed items were reserved for "field" use but several items are on display that woulod have been out in the field. I wore Soldat shoulderboards while the other gentleman attending with me is our unit Hauptman.

It was a real pleasure to have the public express an interest in our combined collection that was on display. The majority of those who stopped to talk were former US active duty servicemen and women, several who served with the Berlin Brigade. Another individual was an American who, as a teenager, lived in West Berlin and travelled through parts of East Berlin to get to school each day (mostly on the U-Bahn).

A few more pics....the RPG is a replica and I know that it shouldn't be displayed with the projectile "loaded" but it seems the American public doesn't recognize it otherwise...

I like the fact you have a lot of smaller personal items, thats one are I need to get more of in.
