''It's privately by an assc. of former civilians and military of the western forces in Berlin.
For some reasons, we didn't found any civy personel from the russians.
I think it's a must for every Visitor.
In Summer there are some BBQ's and party's like 4th of july together with the Embassy Marines.''

                    Thanks Torsten,

I was really dreading the thought of English Cuisine. Its not so much the Cook, as the menu. Other than Fish & Chips, I don't think food has yet to be invented in England. I had the same culture shock in Ireland. After years of looking forward to genuine Irish Stew in Ireland, and then finally getting to sample it, I suddenly realized how much I appreciated the Hungarian version consumed routinely in the U.S.

One of the reasons I return to Germany as often as possible - is the food (and Bier of course), which also by definition is food.

Seven half liters are considered to be equal to a full meal... Cheers, Torsten.

                          Marcus,

The really neat thing about being an American, is that it affords us the opportunity to eat everbody elses food.

Ok, I must have missed this one on my short visit on January,2nd. First of all Happy New Year to you all.

I'm still very flexible with dates so either April or may will be fine with me. But I need to know by the middle of Jan, when it will be so I can give my boss a firm date.

As for cooking: There are some very good English meals to get here in England. Trouble is, you only get them in often small village pubs where the landlord/-lady cook them. But if you know where to go and are prepared to wait a bit longer - it is worth it. Unfortunately, I know only two places like this and neither of them is here in the South. One is in the Midlands and one is in the Lake District.

But what do you expect in a country where the most consumed meal is actually a mock-up indian dish noboy in India has ever heard of?

                              Dag
