    Berlin Flea Markets -

One of the things you might want to take into consideration, is that from personal experience, the vendors at these flea markets always seem to have pre-set prices about which they will not let you barter them down lower. I don't know why, but this has aways been my experience. You pay the stated price or you move on. Even reaching into your pocket and pulling out change that is only a few cents less than the stated price, does not work.

So if you are looking to score a really good deal on something, I don't think the flea market is going to be where that will happen. But, they are fun to go to, and to browse about. There is always that feeling that right around the corner is the find of a lifetime. Not that it has ever happened to me. But then, I've never one at LOTTO either.

That's true, dealing with a Vendor of Militaria Goods is really hard on Flea Markets. And if you have a foreign accent,it will be even harder. The 1st Rule for Flea Markets is,you need to be there very early.Best is 6.30- 7.30am when everybody is "decorating" their tables. Then you need to look for private Dealers and you may have Luck to get something good for the Collection.

I know....I have been to one or two in my lifetime.. I also do not expect Berlin flea markets to be full of bargains, but I just like going round them....providing that they are goods ones and not just full of junk...maybe I will not do it on the Sunday...I don't know as yet, but that is just my current and certainly not fixed plan...all depends in how I feel on the day or how long the night before was.... Cheers, Torsten.

I have found a bar last friday full decorated with DDR relics with flags, wimpels, busts, DDR furniture and so on. It is not so far from where I leave in Friedrichshain. I have to say that it was interesting to have a look. Maybe some of you won't be interested because there was a lot of young people hanging around, so this may be a DDR student Kneipe!

If some are interested, we can also have a look, but I won't mind not going as I live few minutes from there. It is not so far from Simon-Dach-Str.

An other suggestion. I think Torsten already spoke about that: http://www.trabi-safari.de/

The problem is that we will fight together to know who is going to drive!

my first two cars were Trabants and I had to drive one in the past and so, I'll just watch the fighting from the sidelines....

but question is, just we do it or not and who would want to join in? I suspect that the service will get book up pretty quickly for the weekend and we would have to make up our mind very quickly...Cheers, Torsten.

I'm in if people want to join. Let's drive to Honecker Bunker with Trabies.

I'll, watch from the sidelines, too. Have seen "fighting" here in the UK when friends and colleagues wanted to drive mine.

Is that place called Mauerbluemchen? Going by your description, it should be.

Hmmm, I don´t know... I think it´s better we find a "LO"-bus or sth. like that, so we can ride all together... With Trabbi on the Autobahn around Berlin... that can´t be healthy for us...
