Thanks AR! Gives me a broader option for finding accommodation, incase places are fully booked.

      Cheers!

Through personal contacts I may be able to get us into some NVA bunker which is only open to the public a few days a year. Another possible option (Saturday only but I may be able to arrange something on Sunday) is a visit to the bunker at Ladeburg near Bernau, which was the Missile Defence Control bunker for Berlin.

        Right, guys

        Here is the offer:

We go to Prenden and visit Bunker 5001, the bunker of the National Defence Council of the GDR, Honneckers War Bunker!!!!!!!!!
This is a guided tour of around two hours.

There will be som fees (ca 10 Euro per head) and we need to sort logistics out. Maybe one of the local guys can get a minibus or something? I said we will be ca 12 people.

If just been told, that this tour will bwe unique as it is only open on specific days. The guy doinfg the tour is doing it just for us. The bunker is also in top condition, with pretty much all equipment in place.

PLEASE let me know who is interested by End of April so that I can confirm everything with the guys who make this possible. Please be aware that the museum is not state funded

            Dirk,

Ich muste Ladeburg ertsmal rausnehmen. Wird zu knapp.

All, I had to remove Ladeburg as we would only get the chance to go to Prenden at 12.00. I hope you trust me!

Here is the place where the Bunker in Prenden is. I have downloaded a documentary on this Bunker last year.

I have read it was close for the public last year, but will now open for the public very soon.

To locate it in comparison with the location of the Brandenberger Gate.

Without Ladeburg? No problem; I think in "Honie´s" bunker we will have enough to see and learn...
