The wings are current replicas from Pegasus Militaria.

        glider helmet

Nice bit of high-end militaria but what do you guys think of the start price?. When compared with the other, relatively common Airborne helmet types, are these glider helmets really worth this kind of money nowadays?.

To answer my own question, I strongly suspect it is.

I suppose many people have a light oak table, but that coarse woven material is unusual.

            Too much!

I don't like how the inside of the helmet looks pristine

What exactly is it that you don't like Jack? Yes it is unused but it seems consistent with the appearance of the outside. The only unusual thing I can see is the padding to the front between the liner and the composite shell, mine is a size 7 with no padding.

No Luc, I think it is original and completely unmessed with but for me if I were spending big money on one I'd want want that had been worn and a bit battered rather than one that looks like it's been stuck in the stores. Just personal preference I guess...

Well, this is your lucky day then Jack. Mine is battered and happens to be available for £3,499.99 only!

Tell me where to send the money to! haha!

Well the one that's on ebay for £2.5k I rate at £1000/£1200.

Thing to remember with these is that they're never going to exhibit that same battle-worn look that a steel helmet might have simply because (operationally speaking) they were only worn for the duration of a flight and then discarded. There's an interesting ink stamp on the liner of this one that I don't recall seeing on mine.

There's a difference between what they go for, and what I'm willing to pay!!

I guess it just depends what you're into...

This seller has deliberately stitched somone up a treat here

Appeared on ebay a couple of days ago - fake badges put in a tin and made to look like a genuine lot. The seller knew what he was doing here. Now it's ended early - some fool probably offered a high figure for it. Hook, line and sinker as they say..

Certainly is the last time i ask to have a auction ended early, for interests sake heres pictures of the back of the badges i got from the seller.
