I told him exactly the same JB, seller replied he couldn't tell the difference between sand colour and khaki.
Well at least it is a genuine British beret from WWII, unlike the maroon beret he has for sale.

This makes me wonder what US kids learn in school. Perhaps that Britain is the only monarchy on this planet and that the metric system was commonly used around WWII?

I was watching this grouping as well. The beret is a bit odd, the way the leather binding in sewn over top of the liner is a post-war production method. I would be very cautious.

Both wings are replicas, the one on the BD louse is from Cunnard. I would expect the rank badges to have light blue backing, not scarlet. Wings are mounted the wrong way on the Denison. Also Denison has rank slip-ons.
This would look even bad on a reenactor.

The Denison is also post war, the inside of the Newey's are silver.

My guess is a bad reenactor
