Yes, you guys are right! I have to tone it down and I will 'wash" them (meanwhile three planes: one on the catapult, one hanging at the crane and one folded in front of the hangar). The whole ship will be washed at the end anyway with a light oil paint grey solution followed by a touch of dull colored finish to fix the pastell chalk (which I also still have to do).
It is a lot of fun but the 3500 photo etched parts (not all I will use...) drive me nuts sometimes.
Jeff, thanks for the picture. I have a "model" folder printed out (in addition to the "Anatomy of a Ship Bismarck) and will add it. Without additional pictures building on that level is impossible.
