sorry to say the unit im in have placed an order with LB , money went out of my account 18th feb , i have tried phoning LB , as has another member of the unit countless times with no response , the answer machine is always full , tried all the other numbers on his site , none work , as for e-mails , forget it , no reply .
the only time i managed to get through to him on the phone was when i had to give him my card details to pay for the order , since then nothing .

LB seems to want a bad reputation , his customer relations really stink .
if this order does not arrive by the end of march , i will get my c/c provider invoved and i will get all my money back through them , they then reclaim the money from him .
i and the unit im in will never use LB again , stick with 1944 , drew is a decent bloke .

It seems like maybe LB may be gone for good this time around. Usually when customer service plunges the door is not far from closing.

I placed my order on January 5, 2010. I have not received anything to date. All I know is I have $450 out in limbo. I have contacted the BBB and my credit card company. I hate that it came to this but after numerous unanswered emails and phone calls I felt out of options.

From what I understand, Ed Walton doesn't have anything to do with Lost Battalions anymore, he sold out and is gone. Apparently the new owners are milking the business for what they can before they turn out the lights.
It is a real shame too because at one time LB had what many considered to be the top of the line reproduction uniforms.

hi Dennyb , Ed was who i gave my details to on the phone , so he is still running the show ( if running is the right word ).
its a shame that this quality dealer is going down hill so fast .

That is odd because Ed told everyone that he was selling the business a year ago because of health issues...hmmm

hi Dennyb , my first words to him were `hi is that ed ?` to which he replied `yes `.
the mystery deepens , im going to give the group order to LB until the end of the month , then cancel it if nothing has been heard from him .

shame , LB has some really good uniforms .

it would not be so bad if i could contact him , been trying to phone him every night , e-mailed and still nothing .

now it is a waiting game ...........

LB was sold however Ed and Ray stayed on and ran the buisness , production as they did before.

Some say Ed's whole going out of business thing was a marketing move. Their orders were the highest ever the day after they announced they were closing shop. Then a month or so later the buisness was sold.

Maybe they will announce a "Ed is back!" sale to generate new interest now.

I have been waiting for an order to arrive from LB since October 7th. last year. I eventually received a courteous reply to my e-mails (from Ray) informing me that the order had been shipped long ago & that Her Majesty's customs were probably holding it for badness.
I have since, totally given up on ever seeing my item and I guess that I should've read their Terms & Conditions which (if you read between the lines) make it quite clear that they don't give a flying fcuk about international orders.

                        Hi Guys

hell looks like I will never see those jacks, it does seem very strange the whole situation with LB, I mean why would you not give a fcuk about your customers if you had just bought a new company?

Surely you would be trying really hard to send stuff out and make a go of the business?..............it just doesnt make sense, unless its a scam to take the money off us and not send the goods out.............isnt that illegal?

Anyway what a shame its left a really bitter taste in my mouth and from what Im reading in all our american cousins in the united states as well including us guys over here in europe.............

I knew Joe Covais personally, he is/was a really nice guy (I don't know if he is still alive) He had juvenile onset diabetes and was going blind, he turned the operation over to some employees who ripped him off something fierce. I actually looked into buying New Columbia but by the time I arrived the ship had pretty well sunk, people were up in arms because they had paid for uniforms in advance, etc. I did visit his shop in Illinois while Joe was living in Vermont and the employees didn't know I was a prospective buyer so I got to see how they acted unsupervised. They sat around for well over an hour, playing with babies and having a good time. I guess it was Joe's fault ultimately but he simply trusted some untrustworthy employees who drove him into bankruptcy. DennyB

I went to Charleston,Illinoise and there was a little antique shop downtown and a guy was selling off half done NC uniforms. Employees were bringing stuff in and selling them to the owner of the antique/militaria shop. You probably know the shop I m talking about. I bought a pair of pants, buttons and some wool. Roland bought all the patterns from NC. Covais's luftwaffe wool was really good and wish I could have bought all of it. I still wish I could have got over there and bought the wool to this day.
                                Anyways back to sewing
