thanks for posting the pictures Ade

Im somewhat confused: here in new zealand a cottage is a small house.
      Goebbels' cottage looks rather large

Karin is buried here in Stockholm, the name Göring is on the grave.

From what i heard the russians looted her grave searching for valuable things, her bones were scattered around and 5 years after the war they were picked up in the forest by a swede and taken back to Sweden for burial here.

          Hello,
thats right Daniel. But that doesnt matter. The place where she was buried in Carinhall, the tomb in the earth is still there. Only earth covers it. The whole room under earth is still there. I know that she was buried 5 years after war in her hometown in sweden. You can find pictures of the grave in

I think most/all of the nice undamaged(and damaged no doubt) sculptures etc were moved around public spaces post war. Here's one:

such a terrible shame so many of these amazing buildings were bombed to hell
I know all the reasons etc,
but such a better idea would have been to fence them off for a while, restore and re-use. Some of these places were the absolute pinnacle of '30s and 40's German architecture
I know, I know, Rotterdam etc...
anyway, here's a scene of Carinhall 1945 rubble
                regards

Fascinating thread. I think I saw a another thread a while back that showed one of the lions of Carinhall which was subsequently moved to a city and still exists today?
