Lots of pieces of marble, a few shards of tea cups with floral designs and lots of fired and glazed clay bits. The best finds were a few pieces of tile dated 1928 and 1936.

If you get time, I would be very interested to see photos of the porcelain tea cup shards - and the pattern and markings (if any) on the reverse.

    Great thread, thanks for starting.

Chris, let me dig them out - I have them (ironically) in a cupboard at home. I don't think any are formal patterns...

Uli, is the book on "Göring's Reich" available online? If I go back, I'll be sure to bring jeans and hiking boots - those nettles lit me up the last time - Hermann's last guardians!

        Hi Don,
yes the book is still available. Take a look at ebay :
        http://shop.ebay.de/?_from=R40&_trks...All-Categories
        and its cheap.
I don`t think that the pieces you found are really from the main lodge. You know that road is there more than 65 years and the people from roundabout needed their stuff to rebuild and save that way again and again and again.
But you can see and find a lot more stuff at the real main lodge which is as I wrote located 100 and more meters west from the end of that chestnut avenue. No stinging nettles there the last 5 years I stayed there.
50-80 Meters southeast of that end is the place where Carin was buried. The tomb is still there. But there is earth above it and if you don`t know where to look you got not a real chance to find it. If you know you can find
the beginnings of the tombwalls and ob cource rests from the big granite stones which where destroyed from the russians.

And of cource the Forest man who is responsible for that wood don`t like to see the "Treasurehunters"
I will ask Ade whether he will post some more pics.

Are there any period pictures of the hall before it was demolished? If so please post.

Hi everybody and thanks again Ade for posting.
Short explanation to the new pics.
The first schows the place where "Eddas Castle" was. That was the little 1:10 Sanssouci what H.G. build for his little Daughter Edda. It was made from wood. Nothing to see anymore...........
The second pic shows the place where the tomb from Carin is underneath earth................
The other pics are made on the former estate of Carinhall.
Hope you have enjoyed the thread, and by the way.... only 15 min by car away is the Cottage of Joseph Goebbels "Waldhof am Bogensee" still standing and in really good conditions inside and outside. The DDR used it as youth hostel ...................... and of cource for building SED Officers.
And one more. Only 10 car minutes from the Goebbels cottage are the bunkers from "Koralle" where Dönitz leads the last troups before he leaved for Flensburg/Schleswig-Holstein. Mostly destroyed, but .......... as I say mostly not all
                        So a lot to see
                        Take care !

                            Hi Dave,
I will ask Ade one more time to post some pics from the "Waldhof am Bogensee" which was Goebbels cottage.
