Finnish uniform(s)

Hello all,

I'm quite new on WA and been popping in every now and then, lately more often. I've been watching/browsing other members collections on this Forum and I've seen something you can't even find in museums!! You have great collections, congrats!

I've not seen Finnish uniform collections in here so I decided to show some from my "cabinets" if any one is interested?

To start with here is airforce 2nd lieutenant in (light) uniform m/27. Officer has Finnish pilot badge and officer school badge on his left pocket along with EK1 (repro with tie tack style pins in order to avoid making holes to tunic). Ribbon bar contains Order of Cross of Liberty 3rd and 4th class and Winter war medal bars.

I've some other pics also so if you want to see more I can post to this same thread. So lets try if I can attach pics here.....

Yes, its original. I agree, flash made the enameled center look funny and suspicious..! I'm only learning to take pics with digicam....

That display contains medal bars & badges & insignia which belonged to our neighbour. I also have his complete uniform w/boots and summer tunic & map case. I'll post pics of those later but here is close up from that display. I'll get new frames for it on some day...

What kind of "rähinäremmimerkki" (sorry for the finnish guys dont know the english word for them) is the one to the far left in the display? I like those patches

There are 4 of those "rähinäremmimerkkiä" (unit/comerad-in-arms badge/pin maybe?) and on far left is rare from winter war, 5th radio bat. if memory serves correctly! Vet did not use that in continuation war but he had other three on his belts shoulder strap.

Collar and fur cap are dark blue (fur cap almost black) when army had dark grey collar and grey fur caps. Also blue colour on shoulder boards indicate airforce.

Trousers are dark blue when army had dark grey. Also coastal artillery had same dark blue pants in uniform m/22.
