      Finally got your message,

Yes I do have the Nazi battle flag that the New Zealanders captured at Tobruk. It is an amazing relic of the war in Afrika, all faded and repaired by the Germans at the time. Have the documentation of how it was captured and by who.

However, the one I have with all the NZ signatures, units, numbers & adresses is the one from the German surrender in Trieste 1945,

      Chris

Well Chris are you just gonna tease us ? Lets see & hear the story on the Tobruk Flag, '41 ? I know you have some incredible relics from the Tobruk/Libya battles and think its time to share some of them (again) .....your knowledge of the North Afrikan Campaign is appreciated by all

Not my intention to tease Tim,

First I have to find where I have put it. Got it years ago and have put some where safe.

Also I am not on the forum as much these days because I am flat stick on other fronts. The interest is certainly not dying, the problem is other things are taking over.

However, as soon as I get a chance and dig it out, I will post some images,

          Chris

I'm 17 so I don't have a lot of money to spend for the big ticket items. Here is two years worth of my afrika collection! Sorry for all the pics

Welcome to the Forum. That's a very nice collection so far. Lotta great guys here that will help you out.
The AKCT is an original. Here is a thread that shows some of the variations, post # 2 & 18 are similar to yours.

                Thanks Chris

Look forwards to seeing the Tobruk Flag when you can. Do you know what day was it taken ?
On Mike's outstanding Gambut Flag, that must'a been one great party that Christmas. The DAK were dugin back in Agedabia, really unique

Looks to have the telltale 'tartan' look to me?

That someone is wrong. Take a look at the thread in the link again post # 2 & 18. Yours does not have the "tartan weave diamond back." Nor the diamond shaped "O" from the reverse etc, its a fine original

What I'm seeing on my phone are dark vertical lines running in the letters?

Should I start a separate thread about it?

A lot better than I was doing at 17. Nice collection and original AKCT. That palm is a known post war production but appealing on the same hand as I once had one around 17 myself.
