Now I know where the cap from ebay.de go to. I was planning to bid on it but few days before the auction should end, cap simply diseapered .
I really don't like the situation like that.

any way; Nice cap Mark . I would be glad to have it in my collection.

      Marcin,
I understand your frustration but sometimes it pays to be in contact with the seller especially on items with a swastika clearly displayed in pictures. It had a fake eagle with a swastika showing, so contacting sellers to express your interest in case of removal by the ebay police is always the best thing to do. Once an item is removed, there is no way to contact them.
In this case it payed off for me especially since I had bid from the start and shown great interest in the cap. Perhaps if others had bid on it the seller wouldn't have panicked at the price of 6 Euro after being listed for 6 days.

I also was watching it and bidding on it from start and asked the seller about it with no response from him and when he didn't answered I was planning to bid on it with my highest bid at the end of auction. Unfortunately it ended with auctual bid over 26 euro and had no opportunity to bid at the end of auction and it WASN't ended by ebay but by seller. And such situation took place not the first time on ebay. These is very frustrating.

Any way ; after removing those fake eagle and cockade it looks great . Most important is it has origianal soutach still applied.

          Campaign Medals/Bars

Always appreciate to review the thread and see recently added items with my thanks to everyone.

A few I pulled out from my collection currently in storage for a few years, and that were easliy accessible.
Note the conflicting regulation protocol regarding the proper wear and appearnce of the ribbons and medals (obverse/reverse and black/green stripe to the left etc.) Even now days Soldiers still improperly apply ribbons IAW: regulations.

Very nice examples Ray. I do love the mounted medals, they would look great on a Waffenrock from a unit that served in North Africa.

The most recent purchase, a hard to find item. You rarely encounter these and they are like finding a needle in a haystack when you need one. Glad to have been able to secure it for my collection. Matt

Absolutly the mounts would look killer on a Waffenrock/service tunic with DAK lineage. Thats a hopeful far term goal.

Thanks for the nice comments from such a reputable collector.

                        Hi Matt,

Is that a third pattern? I have one the same.

                        Regards,

                          Jerry,

there is a thread on these somewhere, I think its a 3rd model or possibly a second model. Wish it was a 1st model. Matt

3rd model, commonly seen on later caps and sidecaps (late '42 onwards). You'll notice that most of the beehive caps will have these 3rd pattern cockades.
Nice to see a 'used' example and this one looks as though it was removed from a used cap, not an unissued piece.

Already posted this but here it is again, 3rd pattern/model. Anyone know the name of the thread Matt mentioned?

                                Mark,

I agree it seems to have come off a cap and is just a nice one to have should I come across a cap in need. Its just so damn hard to find the 1st model ones...

                                Jerry,

I will try to find that thread that outlines the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd model cockades tonight. Matt
