Something new from me, a very interesting pair of tropical short boots made from tall boots with a few modifications. They have had the heel resoled at some point prior to the last owner finding them at a flea market in the early 90's. The quick lace buttons have been moved lower on the boots than they were when originally tall boots and the leather spine from the rear of the tall boots have been used to reinforce the ankle area.
Can anyone see the most interesting thing about this 'pair'?
I'm sure that tropical collectors will notice what I'm refering to very quickly.

Personally I do love tall boots but these were worth getting for interest value.

It was the first thing that I noticed before adding them to the collection.

Ive never seen a pair with that little leather strap around them above the ankle and the leather tongue on the front and the way the speed laces are placed as you said in the post. Very interesting modifications, a sweet pair for sure though. Matt

The odd thing that no one has commented on, perhaps because they didn't notice; one is a 3rd pattern and the other a 1st pattern but they have obviously been worn together of a long period of time.
