Great cap Sam with real character, love the matching ware to the insignia's and soutach and the opening up of the rare seam with inset for a looser fit or for another soldier .

                My own small DAK display

Always find the so called "Gentleman's War" interesting and the gear equally attractive.

Nice thread and thought I should contribute mine from Southern California. - Jesse

To all contributing, nice brilliant stuff.
Always great to see wonderful beauties, especially my favorite head gear.
I reckon this thread is a winner for all.
                  Keep up the good work.
                  Thank you,

My only two sudfront helmets, actually the the LW field reissue with dark blue was my first helmet, captured in Tunis May 1943, My Uncle bought this helmet for my father in New York in the late 50´s I believe:

more photos and detail of the Tunis captured helmet in the link below:

                            and a little more.
Untouched factory applied panzer soutache, soldier applied officer upgrade twisted chord, eagle applied today and cockade just sitting on the cap.
This one was stripped of eagle and cockade but the rest is just beautiful and untouched.

Damn Mark! You need to leave an officer cap for me! Just a wonderful example to say the least. I really like these officer upgraded caps. Matt
