Slowly getting the new display room sorted with a few mannequins. I'm currently waiting for a new display cabinet to arrive so that I can have all of my headgear on display. It should be here soon, hopefully.

Here is a truly rare tropical item which I was very surprised to find, a pair of tropical trousers with a 1940 dated acceptance stamp.
1940 dated tropical items aren't unusual, although more scarce than other tropical items however trousers are commonly thought to have been produced well after this time. This is the only pair that I've ever come across with this early a date and I haven't seen or heard of any others.
I wasn't sure about them when I first saw them for sale but took a chance. I haven't been able to fault them at all and have shown them to fellow collectors who also can't fault them. The belt seemed a little unusual due to it being made of the same material as the trousers (sometimes seen on fakes) but a New Zealand collector has a set of breaches with the same belt. The fade and wear on the breaches is also very similar, if not the same as these trousers.

Just a little something from my collection additions this year, with much more to follow.

Here are the markings and of course the nicely elasticated cuffs.

          Mark,

Those are truly spectacular DAK pieces, the faded unrestored 1st model tunic is a beautiful "forensic" study. Every time I think about the perfect(in my very personal opinion) DAK collection, yours and NZMark just come to mind...ALWAYS

Your DAK uniform and headgear selection is just spectacular!!

I still have the DAK 1st model NCO tunic I got from you, and is still my favorite!

my latest cap, insignia is professionally resewn and do not go through the liner but I love the fading. 1943 dated with an RBN number inside. Matt

                            Hello,

Here's a neat, naturally faded DAK 2nd model tunic from a panzer-grenadier or pioneer. Please note the blanketcoat patch on the left sleeve. Also, the removed and period resewn lower pocket covers. I surmise they were removed to hold extra granades. Panzer boards added for display. The RbNr. is crisp. Eagle was professionally resewn with the correct DAK eagle for a 2nd pattern. Enjoy!

Matt, great looking cap! It's got Tunisia written all over it.

I've got some great looking DAK pants (several varieties) & shorts and will post photos this week.

                            C.

Nothing wrong with 2nd pattern tunics....
The period photo was taken at Takrouna by a NZ soldier with a German camera he liberated.

Just lovely! I'd have to dig for sme of 2nd patterns in wear ~ if I have any left.

Posting some neat DAK photos (21st Pzr.) from a photo album.

                                Photo A: DAK Panzers rolling!
Photo B: DAK panzer recovery/service in the desert.
