Sorry to disappoint you John, but I’m not tired of the SS tropical cap yet.

Thank you Glenn and Frozzer, I’ll try to post some pictures of the MG 13 barrel carrier.

In the meanwhile here are the other mannequins.

Great/Super you name it Collection, One question that a few of us will have is can you post a few photos of the whitewash MP44? Would love to see that! Any info behind that piece?

                      Thanks Michael

Thank you Michael and John for your interest concerning the white painted Sturmgewehr.

I’m sorry but I have no story about the precise origin of this piece. The only info I can provide is how I got it several years ago :
Discussing with someone I had met on a military show (visibly not a collector, rather a simple visitor), he explained me that he had at home a “white submachine gun” but that he was somewhat disappointed because the gun “had been painted white by some idiot” and that he “intended to strip off the remains of the paint” to restore the weapon in its original black color.
I insisted to have a look at that weapon and we met again soon after. Useless to say that I became completely excited when I realized that it was no less than a white painted MP 44 ! As I felt that he really meant to strip off the paint I suggested to exchange it for a classic blackened MP 44 I had in my collection ... and he readily agreed.
Some may think that I turned a profit of the situation but please take into account that this Sturmgewehr would probably have lost its whitewash forever if I hadn’t proceeded that way. And after all, aren’t we both very happy with the deal ?
I didn’t manage to get any other clear information about the origin of this weapon but I understood it was apparently something like a heritage or gift from a family member. Anyway, this person visibly didn’t care much about the weapon or militaria in general.

The MP 44 came with the original leather sling but without the magazine and is now fully deactivated as per European laws.

Clearly visible on this close-up is that the weapon suffered from rust at some places. Also, the color has turned yellow. This MP 44 was produced in 1945 by the Carl Walther Waffenfabrik (“ac”-code).

Mark, I heard a rumor that some MP44 slings were made out of webbing material but I've never seen one. Have you?
