I can only repeat Ivan's comment... I am speachless too... esterefatto, stupefatto, meravigliato, scioccato, incantato, senza parole, ammagliato, abbagliato, praticamente... fuori di testa!!!

I would be very careful however to have such a valuble at home... con i tempi che corrono... with all the thieves. I have already heard in the past about complete collections being stolen at home! Be careful! Insure yourself... that's a typical comment coming from an extreme "careful" Swiss guy...

However, I want to express my most profound compliments for this stunning "European" collection. I am happy to know that in Europe "we" still can compete with our "over the pound" rich fellow collectors.

              Ciao,

              Claudio

Some answer to David S. (from the owner of the collection):

"Yes, some of the General's items are named :

                - The WH-Afrikakorps Generalmajor's tunic belonged to Eduard CRASEMANN, commander of the '15. Panzer-Division in 1942 in Afrika' and later commander of the 'XII. SS Korps' till april 1945. (Ritterkreuz mit Eichenlaub)
(note: although authentic, the 'Afrikakorps' cuff-title is not period sewn to the tunic but just added to enhance the tunic )

                - The SS-general's coat belonged to SS-Gruppenführer und Generalleutnant der Polizei Gerrett KORSEMANN, assigned to the HSSPF "Russland-Mitte" in 1942-43.

                - The WH-Generalmajor's white tunic belonged to Kurt Freiherr VON LIEBENSTEIN, commander of the '164. leichte Division in Afrika'. (Deutsches Kreuz in Gold und Ritterkreuz)
(note: authentic as it is, the 'Afrika' cuff-title has also been post-war summarily added for the picture)

                - The WH-'General der Artillerie ausser Dienst.' tunic in the middle of the last picture belonged to Franz BARCKHAUSEN. Responsible for the traffic control in Northern France and Belgium. (Deutsches Kreuz in Silber)

                - The WH-Generalleutnant's coat on the right of the last picture belonged to Eugen BLEYER. Commander of the 258. and later 181. Infanterie-Division (Ritterkreuz)"

The Generals panzer jacket is stunning.

                      Ouch

                      Wow!

This forum never ceases to amaze me. What a huge and magnificant collection. Let me just remove my tongue from the floor and screw my eyes back into their scorched sockets.

Need a better job. Need more money. Need more...more...more.

                      Sigh.

                        Collection?

This is not a collection anymore. It's better than some museums I have seen.

Very interesting and great to look at!

I love these forums and hate them at the same time

I enjoy the knowledge I receive, but hate to see the magnificent collections of others as they put mine to shame
