Is there any places I can find information on construction of a field kitchen? Something with refrences to sizes? I joined our local group and thought it would be great to have with our mobile units. I have looked for original units to buy but come up short and figured building replica would be the next best thing.

In the begining of your thread you stated you knew where 4 of these were in the USA, who is your 4 owners? I am curious...

I looked at this awhile back and could not really find anything. Constructing one would be difficult I would imagine. Some of the immediate postwar ones are VERY close to the smaller FK's. That might be the way to go as they pop up for sale from time to time. If you want PM me and I can maybe help you out further.

            Thanks
            Chris

              Mike,

I do not think they would appreciate me disclosing there information on the internet or to other people. If you would like you can PM me your intentions here and I can talk to them about it?

              Thanks,
              Chris

                Chris,

I asked you because my good friend has one in his garage and I dont think you know about it. This is a real one, not post war at all.

                    German field kitchen HELP!!!

I volunteer at a museum in Va Bch, Va, we have acquired a field kitchen from a museum in Germany that the owner of our museum bought. I have been doing research as to when it was built and who built it. The owner thinks it is WW II vintage, I and several others (thanks Grenadierss17) think it might be later. Bottom line, the owner wants to restore it (back) to a coal fired kitchen and use it at our Warbirds over the beach airshow. Any help would be great in identifying it. Here are some pictures, note the museum it came from in Germany is on the stack, if that would help.
OK, how do you insert pictures in this forum?

                      Hello Gents,

I'm new here on the forum, reason for this is that i'm looking for intel about German field kitchens and so I came across this forum.

This week I bought a restoration project, a German fieldkitchen that comes from the area of Arromanche in Normandy. Unfortunally some 70 years ago a guy found it necessary to empty his gun on this kitchen .
Result the kitchen is full of bullet holes.

The kitchen itself is made in 1944 and has the roasting device. I was wondering if sombody has more info, photos or any idea how this roasting device system works?

                          Hello

This is my first post on this forum and is about field kitchen.

We found and bought our field kitchen cca. 2 years ago and we restored it to fully working condition. Pot is dated 1939 and main body is 1940. Wheels are from russian 45mm-AT-gun and probably replaced in field. It was used by local volunteer fireman organization for maybe 50 years, but was in good condition (covered with thick layer of olive green paint), so it was restored in 3 months. We just missing data plates, but we will fix it soon.

                          Here are some photos :

                          Regards

                          Peter

Well done to all goulash canon restoration teams. These 'vehicles' are terrific.
