Ration Bag Cut-Out
Here is a veteran bring-back cut-out that I picked up many years ago. I finally found out what it came from by noticing one just like it used as a back drop for some HJ knife photos over in the "knife and dagger section". This cut-out is from a Ration Bag. If my research is correct, these bags would have been about 29 x 44 inches in size. This cut out has the following inscription:
LANDED IN SOUTHERN FRANCE
Aug 15 1944
Jerry E "Alexandor" (The letters in the last name have been blocked over to disguise the original name)
This would indicate that the veteran participated in Operation Anvil.
