    Ration Bag Cut-Out

Here is a veteran bring-back cut-out that I picked up many years ago. I finally found out what it came from by noticing one just like it used as a back drop for some HJ knife photos over in the "knife and dagger section". This cut-out is from a Ration Bag. If my research is correct, these bags would have been about 29 x 44 inches in size. This cut out has the following inscription:

    LANDED IN SOUTHERN FRANCE
    Aug 15 1944
Jerry E "Alexandor" (The letters in the last name have been blocked over to disguise the original name)

This would indicate that the veteran participated in Operation Anvil.

Just got the word that Schiffer wants to publish Volume II. So I'm pretty estatic. I figure it will probably get published in late 2012 or early 2013.

                              Hello
I was looking through the forums and saw this one very interesting subject
I'm a reanactor and would like to have some authentic can rations, my question is
what size were the various ration cans for meat, milk etc.?
From reading this forum all those repro can labels out there are fantasy?
If anybody could give me correct information it would one of you people on this forum.

                              Thank you
                              Bob
