That's it for the smock - hope you liked the pics.
I'm bringing the "K" tab back into this discussion because there were a few very knowledgeable guys who were concerned about it, mainly owing to its construction. What that means is beyond me. Do the feet of the "K" look different than the few other photographed examples of these? Yes, but I would expect to see that when you encounter items made by 3 or 4 different makers who may have had a slight difference in the Unterlagen they used. Also, some differences in items could be attributed to the skill and experience of the person embroidering it. One other consideration has to do with the originality of the other examples - are they even real??
Nonetheless, this situation should show that it's hard to dispute items that may be "unusual" when they have rock-solid provenance. I hardly think PFC 90th Inf Div soldier, or the guy I got this stuff from went out and salted the group with a hyper rare tab, albeit a fake one.
For anybody interested in "K" tabs, look at this one and study what a real one does look like. I'm not suggesting this is the standard by which all should be judged, but it is a 100% original RZM approved period made piece that can be attributed to a specific camp. That's pretty f'n cool.
I hope you enjoyed the Thread.
Good hunting and have a good weekend
