I find it interesting that all over the internet these caps are referred to as "Allgemeine" but there are no photos except this one showing Allgemeine wearing them and I only published this photo for the first time a few days ago. So why the "Allgemeine" connection? Is it published as such by the NSDAP somewhere? Thanks

Well, if this photo exists showing Allgemeine-SS wearing the krätchen there you have the proof that is was actually worn by (at least some) Allgemeine-SS units.
Maybe more pictures will appear in the future, maybe pictures was taken back in the days like this but they are for ever lost.
Again, if this unit decidd to wear the krätchen, why whould not other units have chosen the same?

Me personally, I have no idea but I suggest you (or someone that have it) look at Gary Wilkins Bible on the subject "The collectors guide to cloth Third Reich military headgear" ISBN 0-7643-1428-9 .
There might be more information there bout these Krätchen and who and when they were worn, both according to but also against regulations at the time.

I know these were attributed to the LAH at sometime. Just wondering what the timeline was for information made for collectors and historians on these caps. Thanks
