I want to thank Owen, Felix, Ian, Robert, Vince, Bob Hritz, Paul and everyone else who posted on this thread. No one likes to get burned (no pun intended Owen), and what's worse, being ridiculed for getting said burn. I am glad to say that, other than my own embarrassment, I was treated here and in PMs with respect and support...with a dash of empathy. In a sense, the things I learn here on the forum, and connections of "friends" I have made here are worth FAR MORE than the price I paid for the cap.
One thing I would like to see here is a thread dedicated to pictures of known correct TK insignia, as a reference to compare to those we may come across.

Hi Frank,
Per your idea below, I will try doing a thread on good and bad cloth skulls over the next few weeks. I really enjoy cloth skulls and trapezoids. I've collected quite a few fake skulls too, as example pieces, and a lot of photos.

TK Guy-- Kudos for taking me up on that idea! No disrespect to ANYONE, but its about damn time. I know we all have lives outside of this sickness..er.... hobby, but the more we can work together, the more we may help infuse"new blood" via new collectors of Big Bad Scary SS items. While I understand not wanting to tip our hat to the Fakers, we can't hide it ALL to the point of Self Extinction in this field! Thanks again-- and may I say the same should be done for SS cloth eagles.
One other thought- the Fakers have easy access to the Real insignia, and have yet to create one that passes ALL scrutiny....so why are we so afraid to put it out there????
