I don't like the sticker either... And i may add that it seemed that the same member posted the next "fake (to me) RZM "officer" tab.

                .
I didn't had the time to post it (planned to do it later yesterday), but to me this is a dangerous high-end fake, i'm with Ludwig on that one...
The design is not identical to the original model.

Why the hell would "118" or any other firm produce a tab in silver when officer should have a silver pipping (even more if they are known to wear "normal" tab without it) ?

And this is always the same problem, so few officers were Norvegians...
No financial interest to do an officer model with silver wire...

Nota : is there a way that the white wire was colored to silver ?

                See You

                    Hi,

to me the Oaklead "officer" model is an high-end fake like previously said.
On the left, the original posted by D Davies, on the right the Oakleaf "officer" model.

Many features are not similar to the non-officer original :

                    - the head is ugly : the ear, the eye, the mouth, the collar are so off.

                    - the angle of the neck is not right. In the non-officer original we don't have a right angle like in the "officer" model (nota : this is not a problem of perspective).

                    - the first rounded shield is too small...

                    See You

Vince , I am pretty sure that this one is actually the DDavies tab 380353 - so there is NO 380323 ( look closely at stamp ) ..

So only 10 tabs, not 11.

Thanks Vince. For years (decades) I thought my tab was a repro. Good thing I didn't sell it for $20! Mike

                            Hi Vince,

there are others who own this tab including one officer tab. They are on the WAF so it up to them whether they want to post or not.

                              Hi,

you are right Tom, i have no doubt that many other collectors have this nice tab.
Winkelman and I we only list the items in the open. ^_^

About the officer tab, if we are speaking of the Oakleaf type, i posted below a topic about it.
To me it is a high-end fake but still a fake.
The overall design is having too many differences with the known original.
Why would August Menzs & Sohn produce a modified design for the officer model when they only have to change the type of wire to a silver wire ?

Also there were no financial interest to produce it, no military interest too (only an handful of Norvegian officers, even if we count the German officers in the "Nordland" regiment at the time).

The discovery of the second serie of produced models (386 thousnad) is very interesting ! So far we know that +1300 models were produced (379-380 thousand).

                              See You

Wonderful Long ship tabs, thank you for sharing the images! As for the Delich photo featuring all the tab variations, I would be careful with it, from what I can see, some of the tabs are Delta repros (like Double Cross tab for Weissruthenian division) ect.

                                P.S.
I would also be interested to know, for example, how many Ukrainian 'Galizien lion tabs are out there (I can only remember seeing one of these a couple of years back on German Warbooty website, and I think there may have been one which sold very quickly once on EStand)
                                - To answer this question; although produced in large numbers and in few variations, the tab is scarce because while in captivity, the British told all the POW's to take off and destroy the insignia. The few that survived, where probably those that the POW's kept as momentos. There were also some tabs in Dahau storage and number of them come in unused condition from US vets. In last 15 years I've seen at least 20 or more of such tabs.
