Great photo's Nick, would still be good to see a pic of the grey/white SS reversible trousers pocket flap if anybody has one to show

Yep that's the style, a much less pronounced scallop, as stated earlier, (compared with the SS parka jacket)
but it is still there, just shallower...(like this camo example) and obviously not a totally straight simple flap (army) as shown
in the first image, (from a warrelics thread), so in a style which is believed to be W-SS production.
Your pants don't have an RBNr and the size stamp in a different location?
(of course early Heer parka pants also lacked RBnr since that only started in 1943...)Last edited by NickG; 06-12-2016, 01:05 AM.

Only the parkas have scalloped flaps. The trousers do not.
Your own photos bear this out no matter how much people try to turn the rumpled edges of the flaps into scallops. I made our pattern from the oak trousers pictured, but sold them last year. The flaps were very much straight. Go get any original oak/ blurred camo pants and press the flaps flat- the front edges are not curved.
There's no pronounced pattern difference between the Heer & SS trousers aside from the fabrics, (other than the funky "Kharkov" pants with the side buckles.)
Olpan's pants are "normal pattern" pants made from the same rayon fabric as the "Bunny parkas". There are no Heer parkas in that fieldgrey rayon, just SS ones with nicely scalloped flaps and arabic numeral size stamps in the neck.

I would imagine the trousers would have matching scalloped pockets but the parka pants that started this thread with the straight flaps do match the material exactly
so maybe it does not apply to SS parka pants?
Do the pants that started this thread lack an RBNr? (SS indicator!)

The parka pants on the other hand ALWAYS have straight flaps and are never really scalloped...just wadded up and appear different sometimes in period photos. Roger that!Attached Files

The SS grey green produced pants have scalloped pockets.
Fact
(matching flaps) but even with the later camo versions its been proven not to be the case....
only the jackets have curved pocket flaps...Not the pants...
but honestly it gets a little murky whwn studying period photographic material...evenHeer showing "SS pattern" and vice-versa...
and often unclear wadded/compressed/wrinkled flaps...Interesting study though!Attached Files

In my opinion, ONLY the SS issue camo and green parkas have scalloped pockets, NOT the SS issue camo and green pants. I to date have ONLY seen this barcoded printed material on SS issue items, and thus would believe the pants that started this thread are SS issue. Granted, I have not held thousands of unissued/issued army-SS-Luft winter pants in hand, but certainly enough and I have yet to run across an Army/Luft issued garment (even Jackets/Parkas) with this particular odd barcoded/striated fabric, I also have yet to encounter SS issued winter pants with scalloped pockets.
If someone has a true army issue winter parka or set of pants with this barcoded material, I would love to see them. I cannot see any camo advantage gained with this, unless it was saving ink, dont know when all is said and done.
