That is a pretty serious allegation against Lorenzo. I have never had any dealings or correspondence with him to suggest he is anything but honest.

Was this whole thread, with the veiled implications against some Italian faker, supposed to be presenting evidence against Lorenzo?

Right Moderator,
The forum is a very usefull instrument to improve the knowledge, for more or less experts collectors, this forum helped me too a lot.
But in the forums in the internet era developed also a new category of collectors, the "virtual collectors", with few real stuffs at home, and theyr collection in the harddrivers full of downlauded pictures and big numbers of posts. Well, this NEVER will compensate the knowledge aquired handling the owned stuffs, and few stuffs examinated at home friends dont change nothing, I have pieces that teach me something also after 20 years, depend with wich eyes you look at them. The problem is not the knowledge or the unknowledge, is the Partial knowledge together with the arrogance. In 30 years I bought, sold and traded hundreds of SS stuffs, uniforms, smocks , covers, insigna, what I always loved. Learn is hard, with the time and pieces to handle, people are still debating on the pinck smock here!. This bad evolution of the forums had like conseguence that the real collectors with nice collections to post stay away....becouse the sharks.

So you think it it ok for you to come on here and try to ruin some one with out haveing to prove it ? No sir it is not . This is whats wrong with this hobby today . How are we supposed believe this ? The other side is collectors being taken advantage of and having fake covers pushed onto them.

It makes no difference what you say .....see you at the next SOS and we can talk .....and look at covers all day if you like .

But I tell you this ......we can go over ones that came from you that will be there .
Not on a online chat room.

Man it saddens me to see where this thread is going. I was hoping this discussion would yield some interesting results for all us collectors. I would like to see more technical discussions about the items we collect. To share information in a decent manner, not throwing wild accusations at each other. I want to learn from your experience so I can collect more knowledge to enhance my collection.
I am almost afraid to post some pieces of my collection... the comments can be so aggressive and nasty.
This should be a hobby we all should enjoy....

I am not against speaking up.... but there are different ways to speak up.

Well I spoke up for the many others collectors who gossip behind the scenes ...........about said covers.



I have NO shame in doing so , and regardless of the cheap personal attacks on me am confidant I have done and am doing the right.

My PM box is full every day from some old school collectors offering support.

What this does show is there is massive profit to be made from fakes ......
and this can happen even to advanced collectors even in this day and age.

Only sometimes it's difficult to judge who's right and who's not right. Everybody has his own story and than the battering starts.

As I said in another thread there are too many known fakers and people with 'form' allowed to remain and operate on this and the other forums, refining their 'skills' with our help. If the listening audience were all lilly white then there would be no need for the good guys to hold the debate on the specifics behind the scenes. That is never going to happen though so ...
