So the German families tell every collector they do not have anything left..except this dealer and rob NL, for some reason you wanting the items doesn't bother them...even though some of the vets spent days and hours talking to authors and historians telling them they had nothing, including to German authors and collectors...they decided though that a collector from the Netherland's was ok to tell they had things left.

I think its more of a money thing..but thats just my intuition. I know things like documents,rings and small personal items that were generally kept at home survived and even some awards. I do not disagree but entire uniform ensembles..sorry I do not buy it.

Did you read Mark Yerger's post about the Fegelein tunic or any of them over the years? I trust Markus by the way. But there will be no convincing anyone its not my job but I did want to note collectors that suddenly out of the blue after nearly 70 years the uniforms of Fritz Witt and Heinz Macher were discovered....I believe Macher was with Himmler when he surrendered to the British..

i hope the laws in europe will in the near future be revisited , due to shenanigans in the hobby for the last 60 years ,and be enforced to follow the provisions under unconditional surrender and even the enemys decendants to also be forced to follow those terms, to not be allowed to fake , sell or posess items as outlined in the surrender terms ,after what this war did to us, the ones who are the allied soldiers killed children ,who would likely have been forced to serve these decendants of the enemy, if we hadnt lost 50 million lives to stop this organization we now collect and still fight over . Only the victors have that right to posess own or sell these things...imo:eeeeeek:. Sorry, but that's the only way that may make sense to get a handle on this misguided hobby. How soon we forget the treachery.

If you take ss uniform experts and stew them like applesauce, their opinions have much the same effect prunes have on the bowels, but to ones intellect after ingesting , regarding knowledge of originality, than what rhubarb does.

What I find amazing is some of these Nitwits have money. How can they have enough money to buy the stuff yet be so stupid? Usually the acquisition of Cash involves business transactions that require skepticism and some sense, but then in the Hobby they act like idiots. Of course the money they have could be from a family business that was started by someone sharp or they simply inherited their money.

Rob.....the uniform I posted was sold to a collector in the Netherlands by Kai Winkler ..and it was offered to me upon my inquiry as belonging to a soldier who served with Das Reich and Kai at the time had the photo album and documents from the family.The soldier never served in LAH.

Rob NL yes Phoef was who ended up buying it from Kai Winkler's old website. While it was for sale there I emailed Mr. Winkler and asked him where he obtained the tunic..his reply was that it came from the estate of same Das Reich Officer whose photo album ,documents and boots came from...this is a phot of that officer from the album. I do not know where the album or documents ended up but this officer never served in the LAH. Also note the cyphers on the shoulder boards are exactly like the many loose one's Mr. Winkler was selling at the time...this phenomenon occured on a couple tunic's I purchased from him...the insignias seemed to match the loose ones he sold on his old site same types of eagles and tabs...he also had a section with loose pip sets, SS marked buttons,rolls of twisted collar and tab piping. I bought some of it to compair to what was on the tunics he sold me.

I never said the Witt grouping or that the Macher grouping was fake I am saying that I do not believe it and I was telling fellow collectors that these groups would eventually surface and thats just my opinion on it based on my experiences. But if you believe in it and you find them accurate then by all means you should invest.

John, point taken.
My point is that we should not write items off unless we have seen them.
To write them of because of the source would be not good IMHO.
If we start doing that, then no item is safe anymore.....
