Nice original groups and items are out for sure.
Much jealousy is sometime behind it as well. Some even don't talk
about their finds. I have heard today from a complete group,
around 5 tunics, a greatcoat and a raincoat plus around 4 headgear items.
Next week my house painter will present me all those items. Let's wait and be relaxed.

"Jealousy" is a word too loosely used by people here..there is no Jealousy when items are beyond ones means and they know it and there is no Jealousy when a person is ripped off by the same dealer who "discovers" everything....

Perhaps it is EGO that is more a culprit than "jealousy" on forums people who post things to try and gain prestige and stature in the collecting world. "Look at me, look at what I can show you"...the audience enter's with oooh and ahhhh and the Ego is boosted and recognized as all knowing because they own something prestigious. Then the back room dealing begins.

I have no Jealousy for anyone spending a fortune on SS uniforms I have been there and done it...I have pity for those who believe in miracles like Tuxedo Badges and buy them without thought.

A few weeks ago an honest grouping from a SS Das Reich Artillery officer sat on the Estand for a week no one needed to discuss it because it was 100% real now that would be something to spark jealousy but instead I felt sad that the owner needed to sell it. I know guys who have collections they never show here because they do not need the prestige...nor do they seek possible future sales.

I believe what Markus told me about Witt's 80 year old relative and I have a feeling I can trust Mark Yerger's experience and it wasn't all that long ago that the crowd that condones was the crowd that doubted and condemned....but where money is involved so things spin.

Maybe also people are still having fun collecting.

If some people are more lucky than others finding and even sharing good stuff - yes I mean good stuff, not "finding" fakes - it may have indeed to do with luck but much more because they keep hunting while others sleep one way or the other and know their stuff.

Sharing good stuff here is not that much for one´s ego - it has more and more become a "chance" to get things burned.

True...I just found a mint Pilots badge out of the woodwork it is lots of fun to find things. But the prestige thing is an old game for gossipy girls.

Well stated and I believe so very true.

Just forced myself to read this terrible thread, full of nothing of any interest, or significance at all....pure hate.
Chris Pittmans post on vaseline that cleans zinc medals is what this forum should be full of....not a clearing house with posts that merely say..... Real or fake?

By all means go an snort some more fairy dust and go back to believing that all militaria sold by dealers is 'the real deal'.

I for one like to see questionable items outed and questioned.

If you take SS uniform experts and stew them like applesauce, their opinions have much the same effect prunes have on the bowels, but to ones intellect after ingesting , regarding knowledge of originality, than what rhubarb does.
That is one of the most bewildering statements I've seen on this forum -
Your misguided perception of WWII and it's outcome, not to mention your take on the decendants of the vanquished AXIS powers....
Many thing are better left unsaid on this one.

In response to this, I can only reply. "They goats in war who sex with, drink milk but surrender only sex after was had. Die all who alive is with goats."

                                That has really tickled me.

(The problem is it still makes more sense than juoneen's post).
