Maybe. And regarding the eagle, I really don't know . . . I have seen enough wonderful forgeries out there, that I am now convinced very few will ever know what is correct, and what is no longer correct.

Ive seen worse in period photos...not a good way to detect fake anything.

I have never seen a real one with a submerged head.

Wolf eagles set the standard. But you are correct, anything and everything in life is analogous.
