All I would too know is If the box is a copy,what makes it a copy. 2 How can a ring be an original if it is missing tell tale design flaws. If the ring has them why were they missed? Is it the first of it's kind.I am only interested in the ring and box nothing else ("He said , she said "ect )

The original thread was posted on 22nd of July by member rcje10 located in San Francisco who was the owner of the ring. I remember very well that member John Fish stated that the ring is worth at least 12K together with the box.
At that time nobody of the members who commented thought that the box might be a fake and the ring was judged to be a very pristine late original one.

Due to the fact that the thread was pulled - and so the pics - his profile shows no threads opened by him and no posts made by him. His last activity here was on 11th of August.

......I think CG is wrong to post the alledged disatisfaction by the current owner toward Don and then use that to boast his sale. CG has jus too much controversy surrounding his ring acquisitions/authenications for me to feel comfortable with any ring he touts........

Thorsten, yes I said that.Why has the thread been pulled when nothing was out of hand? Its a nice set and I know first hand that Craig paid a fair price for the set as I was in contact with the guy who posted it.Of course any dealer would then look to put 25% on top for re-sale but nothing stopping any of us from offering him 10k and it would have been yours. But I did not have the funds at the time.
Perhpas what needs to be discussed is why Don said the box was fake,looks ok to me.....
And the ring looks 100%

Telling the owner that the ring was defective, and the box was fake, doesn't sound like a very good day for Don all around, especially when he tried to buy the set for $5000.

Well, I have no doubt that both pieces are truely fascinating originals and told the seller right from the beginning.
I am sure that Craig offered a good price so he made the deal - the early and solvent bird catches the worm, that´s it.

It´s hard enough for any dealer nowadays due to more and more market and price transparency worldwide to aquire such fine pieces so a low offer is a nice try and a kick-off.

I'm glad Don did that, because the kid got really pissed off, asked for it back, and sent it to me. I was very glad to buy the set, as the box is 100% original in my view. I frankly didn't know the ring topic had been pulled, but no matter. Here are the photos.

I am NOT the owner. I am hoping that we can get a good annswer to all this.
