Kris, as you said before, it was what I didn't say that defended it. I see that!

Don't start playing the victim now. You got the tags, you got the coat, Distelhorst ended-up with the coat & then Kris ended-up with it. In my opinion you are neck deep in this mess and no amount of explaining or tap dancing will make this right.

My concern with this Thread is that it will disappear into obscurity and people will either forget, or the new ones will never know who the man behind the curtain is.

This whole thing is despicable and I find it unforgivable that you jeered those who had doubts about this rag when it was first posted as they were spot on and saw this POS for what it really is.

If it will make you happy, I will wear the coat to MAX and let you stone me to death in the parking lot.

                    Gaspare,

I knew nothing until the tags went up and they were on the forum in early 2008 it seems. I just thought it was another crazy piece to add to all the others that have popped up recently.

Actually this is not quite true. About 8-10 years ago on Ebay a white SS badged lab coat sold for about $4500 as I recall....thats about 9k in collecting dollar terms today! It was so phoney it made the one in this thread look like a pedigreed original right out of a vets footlocker.

The ebay coat even had fake pebbled RZM/SS marked solid back buttons down the front. Within a week or so of the sale another half dozen wantabees showed up on Ebay as usual.....trying to draft behind the POS that had sold. It's sort of like the $350 web 98k sling that sold on ebay after being mis-identified in the G-43 reference book....it was in fact a common late war rubber tipped gas mask strap! Within a week there were probably 20 of them from other sellers.

Wearing it to the MAX/SOS show ("Lab coat Pete"); now there would be a picture to post on the forum!
