what book did you copy for the photo ? Credit the source unless you wrote the book. Common courtesy sense most copyrighted authors expect at least to be asked before having their material copied.Last edited by Mark C. Yerger; 06-19-2009, 10:55 AM.

Uniforms, Organization, & History of the Waffen-SS, Roger James Bender & Hugh Page Taylor. Is that sufficient??
Nothing substantive to say on the subject at hand so you rag me on my crediting?
BTW, Thanks for the post John! Makes you wonder just how much good stuff was chucked-out by families

I write books so those who don't but scan and use them without permission I have a problem with. It's called copyright. Yes, that's substantial, but thanks for the moronic reply typical of those who assume owning a book copy gives them copyright ownership. But why bother having common accepted (legal) courtesy when being a thief takes less effort (like the effort to write a book which you obviously haven't).

Mark,
We're all fortunate that you take the time to write books as I'm sure many benefit from the info you lay out in them, and I mean that sincerely. One thing I don't remember doing though in my response to your other post was hurling insults at you. My use of the uncredited pic was an oversight and I corrected it promptly. Saying my response was "moronic" and calling me a thief implies I'm a moron and a dishonest person which quite frankly I find totally offensive and unwarranted. I personally do not insult people here and would expect at least the same as a reciprocal courtesy. If you want to insult me save it for a PM (or better yet in person) as I've got a few things I'd like to say to you. The point of this Thread was to exchange some thought regarding this type of tunic. I've seen none of the "experts" show-up which I find really disappointing.
Hopefully I'll see a PM from you soon.
Regards!
Bob

Having an author point out that you were in violation of copyright laws in not a "rag" on you.
Correct. Likewise I didn't appreciate the attitude expressed when my point made.
Make whatever cmments or point you want about whatever item. "Rag on me about my crediting" when you didn't I resented as well.

Yeah, I agree, bad form on my part on both accounts, initial remarks and hoisting the pic from the book. So you are 100% correct and next time I use a photo I will cite it appropriately. Hopefully you'll reconsider on your comments as they were just downright insulting, then maybe we can move on from here with learning from eachother.
Regards!

Thanks Mark and understand completely. Normally I'm the type of guy that gives credit where credit's due, just brain farted in this case. I posted pics from Prodgers RAF/Luft flight gear book 2 weeks ago and cited, don't know why I didn't in this case. Lesson learned and I'm not a repeat mistake kind of guy.
Regards!!
