Are you sure Bullmann? I have not seen this kind of bleed through before on any other NS/SS posters.

Compare with this original and you can see some differences, the burnished edges to the globe and the different number of '£' symbols on the lower green serpent body.

Certain print/tone differences I can understand on some posters, although the little differences in the artwork are a concern.

    The one posted by Wolfslair.

First of all I have seen the "bleed-through"-effect on many periode Norwegian posters before. Second I think perhaps that the burnished edges just shows better in the one motive than the other. As regards to the very interesting fact that the one serpent has six symbols on one poster and eight on the other, I would say that of all the ones I could find, amongst them my own, and the one pictured in the book "Parti and plakat" all have six symbols, rather than eight.
Here are just two links in addition:

I guess the one that you show is the one that was sold on "Collector's Guild". I really don't know why that has eight symbols, or if that poster should be suspicious then. It looks okay, the size and all, but the eight symbols are strange.

Very interesting, and yes this was the one from Collectors Guild.

Even the blood red outline spreading across europe has a different shape, strange, but maybe this one is the fake afterall.

This is not in my collection btw, was just using it purely for comparison.

I have been meaning to buy a copy of "Parti and plakat" but my navigation skills on Norwegian language sites are pathetic...

I don't think this one was shown in this thread.

Who is the illustrator for this awesome piece of art?

I would assume its by Harald Damsleth given that it is signed 'd'.

                As per this poster...

                  Sure it's Harald Damsleth.
This little book printed in 1943 is untitled:
Nasjonalsosialistens Livssyn. Vart Grunnlag Og Var Pakt Med Naturlovene.
The author is SVERRE P. RIISNAES.

One of the best artistic work by the norwegian Harald Damsleth. The SS recrutment poster is in the biggest size, and in mint condition. Fresh colors. Extremly rare and sought after. Thinking of selling it due to bills.

                    Enjoy!

My poster restorer related a story to me of a poster collector who lost his job as a computer programmer and lived in his car for a while. He said to the guy, why don't you sell some of your posters so you can rent a place to live and the guy said no way.

A while after that he got another job but 6 months later was back living in his car again and still refused to sell any of his posters.

That is one hard core collector.

Last time I was in Norway there was a lot of Ocean, he needs a Fishing Rod. Then he could quit buying those expensive Oats and spend more on Militaria.
