    Hi,

wasn't Greece in the "italian influence zone" ? It may explain why the Germans didn't had the right to recruit volunteers. But this is an interesting question...

It is plausible that "News' posters" (check below, in french) were maybe done after the invasion of the Greece, with picturing the LAH...

    See You

The Poulos Verband was a Heer unit formed with Greek nationals, it was under HSSPF Alpenland and deployed against partisans in Slovenia and was issued a mix of SS and Heer equipment.

            Thanks T.K & French Volunteer,

            Never seen that pic before.

Still a a little strange that the SS didn't recruit such fighters.

Perhaps it had something to do in keeping the peace with the Italians or maybe they could not be trusted.

AH did let them all return home when they finally surrendered and probably didn't want any more trouble as his plans for Russia took on this detour and delayed him by three months.

            Don't know.

            Anyway thanks again.

Italy have lost Greece on 08.08.1943, so Germany was the power in charge in Greece 'till the end of the war.

I would like some opinions on these postcards,

Im not sure if they are original, and the stamps on the rear look like they were stuck there yesterday...

                      Hi Harm,

That was my thought too, that they were post-war reprints...

Those big blue stamps would make me suspicious right from the start.

Does anyone have an idea on the value of these particular posters???

                          many thanks

Sorry Koen - I forgot to give an answer about the value - I would say probably US$500 to US$1000 for each of those.

I have seen both of these for sale, given that they are both dutch (and clearly pro-German) I believe they are SS aligned...

                            Considering picking both up.
