      Hi,

yes Tony, therefore i will ask M. Soulat to have more infos from René Bail, the guy that owned the poster (?). We must check that for sure.

      See You

        Hi,

the René Bail poster appeared in the 1973 book of Jean Mabire, "La brigade Frankreich".
Far before any "fake" poster with the Recteur Poincaré address in Paris. I will ask the contact of the family Bail tomorrow.

        See You

Yes it was overpriced, given the condition... although it is a nice poster, just not $3300+ nice!D
Got this same poster a couple of years ago at a poster auction. Was a little panicked when I saw the estimate was for $2 -300. But $3300?? Crazy.

            Hi,

the "Nancy SS poster" is in the Eric Lefèbre collection (not in the René Bail one, René Bail had a "Sennheim" booklet). Therefore i may have infos about it in the next months... René Bail passed away a few years ago it seemed.

            See You

              Hi,

some updated info for post #506.

The Waffen-SS photographic exposition took place from January 21 to February 29, 1944 on the #42, avenue des Champs-Elysées.

The location was the Citroën showroom... which is still in activity today !
The Disney Store address is #44 avenue des Champs-Elysées.
              Sorry for the mistake.

Here is a picture of the exposition hall in 1944, and the current hall today (courtesy of Google Street View and La Parisienne d'Images).

You will find more pictures of the "Waffen-SS in Paris" here :

              http://www.parisenimages.fr/en/

Many pictures were taken by André Zucca, photographer for the french "Signal".

                        Hi,

the poster was probably more than 1000 Euros, probably 1500 or more...

Here is another dutch poster, a really wonderful one !

This is one of my favorite, a Waffen-SS soldier with tarnjacke (fantasy pattern) and camouflaged helmet cover (with wrong attachments !),
checking the content of a feldpost Xmas box !
                        A real beauty !

The poster is asking for donations for the dutch SS-volunteers, with the bank account at the bottom (Giro 106156).

Another poster for that propaganda campaign :

I saw that one too.....although all too late.....I would have grabbed the lot had I seen them when they were first listed.

Just wasnt meant to be I guess.

The poster was in bad quality and therefore very very cheap!
