I am the person selling this poster, having taken it in on consignment. Before I let it go, I want to make sure it is original. The lettering at the bottom is not a bright white color, that's from my flash, it is more a very, very light tan color like old paper and not yellow or even a yellowish tint, in fact, it is the same color as the reverse of the poster, so I would assume that the runes and lettering were not colored. Is this correct or incorrect for this poster?

    Best Regards,

    Gerard

Its been offered to me again as the previous buyer fell out.

Again I think the flash has made the text look more white than the yellowish colour that I am use to seeing on these ones.

Also what is a fair market rate for this if original? Your opinions are very much appreciated.

    Cheers.

Any comments on the poster, as to authenticity? Any help appreciated. In hand, I can tell, it's obviously nothing newly made.

Hi Gerard, now that you have confirmed what I was wanting to know all along - that it is the flash washing out the tanned colour of the text...

TonyS sent me two pics of original versions of this poster, so i am quite confident that this one is original as they compared quite well (even with the flash issue).

Oh! and ill definitely take it...

A big thank to Tony and his wonderful web site www.SSRelics.net
from Galleria d'Arte Thule: all the images of Anton's work come from Tony's archive and research.
Now we are waiting for a good book about Prof. Ottomar Anton.
              Best regards. Harm

Another addition, albeit on a newspaper cover.

I wont have this in hand until next week and have not larger photos so I cannot make out the artists signature - anyone who can shed some light as to who it is by would be much appreciated.

I was asked as to whether the SS Flandern Poster I posted earlier was an original. It certainly was sold as an original and I have seen one other in far worse condition also for sale.

I would however like some feedback on those who may know of the artist and when this poster was likely done (i.e. pre-1945). Ill try to get a closeup of the signature...

I still have yet to receive the poster so its hard to make an in hand appraisal at this point.

Funnily enough I thought the 3 SS soldaten looked very familiar - and when compared to my other SS Poster, I see why.

Do you know by whom, and what period... 1950's?

I believe that the Flemish SS posters are still being sold to collect money for the maintance of the graves in Russia.I attented some SS veteran meeting last year and there were those for sale too.The man had over 30 copies with him. Can't remember the price but was for sure not more then 15,00-20,00 euro.

                                regards,
