    Hi,

the "Ils donnent leur sang..." is one of the various posters made for the S.T.O. ("Service du Travail Obligatoire" - forced labor duty) campaign which started in early 1943, to try to get more french workers deported in Germany (german workers were sent to the front and various other duties).

    See You

      Thankyou for the information Vince...

There were a number of LVF posters in the same auction, although I had wanted one of these for a while. This is quite a large poster... 154 x 119,5.

      Cheers,

New one. SS Danish Recruitment Pamphlet. Nothing overly special, but seemingly fairly rare, have not seen this one before.

It's rather salty but a rare Boccasile. I tried to Google the translation but it did not make too much sense. Any insight would be appreciated.

er - salty applies to clothing. Unless someone has been running around naked with a poster wrapped around them....

It does have quite a bit of tape on it.

The type written part says "Enlist in the Italian SS Legion"

Not sure about the handwritten part.

LOL. Fair enough, I will not use 'salty' again in this context. It's going to need to be linen-backed, but should turn out nice.

You must be tossing quite a bit of cash around to pry out these posters - Bocasille and Damsleth SS don't usually come cheap these days.

Did you marry a rich widow recently?

Post away Vince - won't matter if we've seen it before. I'm sure I've forgotten all about it if you posted it before.

                            Very nice Vince,

I have always liked the imagery of this one (both poster & booklet)- "Vlamingen Op !" (A5 size, booklet).

LOL. No, actually I'm a lucky guy. While I have my posters in my office, my wife (8 years my junior) would let me hang them elsewhere in the house too. She really likes a few of them!

                                Hi,

your poster is a fantastic example from Bocasile's genius.
                                this is the translation:

"Enlist in the Italian SS Legion

Italy ('s honor) can only be redeemed in arms"

It refers to the fact that after the September 8th armistice
those loyal to the Duce and to the pact of alliance with the Germans saw the rest of Italian troops that stood by the King's side and fought with the Allies against the Salo "repubblichini" and the Germans as traitors and bringing shame to Italy for their betrayal.
