Hello Bob:
Found this thread based on two previously posted flag photos,
so if you run across in your photos any showing Galacian unit
flagbearers they would still be cool to see too.

                  - Thank you very much, It would be great to see this topic thriwing.

                  Eric:

                  - Wonderfull band photos! Here are some photos i managed to find on line or scanned from vet albums:

Giant banner with divisional coat of arms hanging before Lviv (Lemberg) opera house.

The parade in front of the opera. The man in the middle is Alfred Bizants - the head of Military Board in charge of recruitment drive.

People in front of the opera. In the background we can see an Adolf Hitler monument shapped like a roman fire pit.

A whole set of color photos was made of the same event and also a color video. I was lucky enough to discover two slides in Melnyk collection and copy them. Here is a nice detail of the flags in front of the opera:

Flag is beign awarded to volunteers from Lviv university. It appears to be blue or purple in color with Galician coat of arms in the middle.

Crapy scan, but here is Ren-Pobiguschyi in a uniform:

                          Some more flag photos:

Fastforward to 1945. Internment camp in Rimini Italy. The troops are flying Ukrainian yellow-blue flag - a gift from 2nd Polish army corps of general Anders. Note that troops are wearing DAK uniforms. Scanned from a vet album.
