Hi Robin, thanks again or the additional, pic's. I think that the pic's of those men in '47 were taken by the Poles for the trial, both in civilian clothes and left over SS uniforms, for the purpose of identification. At least this is discussed in "Commanders of Auschwitz", Dixon. It shows Liebehenschel in Untersturmfueher rank.
Somehow I thought that the SS men were stripped of their insignia after the war. There is a pic in a book, that fails me now, showing Dietrich, Kraemer, Priess and Peiper at the Dachau trial with no insignia and number placards around their neck.
I think that you are spot on concerning the repairs and reissue of tunics. If "44 is the year for the pumpkin head I'll buy that, thanks for your time, Sonny

I suspect that those uniforms with tabs were only worn for the photos to show evil SS men. I wonder if they know how lucky they are, those are some rare caps they wear.

        SS TK Collar Tab Question

I ran across this thread and thought I would add an image of this type of TK tab which I have on an untouched SS NCO tunic that came from the family of a veteran about 2-3 years ago.
