OK guys, this should say it all:

When I kindly informed the owner last night of the opinions on this cap, his demeanor shifted from sociable to downright rude. So much for trying to be helpful! Oh well, at least it was a learning experience for me. I'm just glad I didn't try to coax him to sell it to me based on my initial impressions. My thanks go out to all who offered insight here.

Not surprising really. That is the way that most people react when they find out that something they bought from a dealer that they trusted ended up bending them over the sink... they've been violated and taken advantage of and it hurts.
