In regards of the started discussion for discolaration on the RZM stamp markings, this is sometimes found from stickers at German shows. And there is no such thing called tape stencil. What counts is if the stamp or better visor (Schirm) by self is real or not.

Robert to say there is no such thing is completely wrong. If A faker chose to make a stencil, that it what he chose to do. You can’t say what or what not someone could or would do. You don’t know this. It is not like it is a commercially available item. It would be homemade. So do you like the cap?
Here is a cream colored officer quality lining in an EM hat in my collection. The maker is # 195. I just sold one very very similar to this to Doug O. not too long ago. The pumpkin orange lining is the most common for sure.

Peter-
Now there's a cap I would not mind having in my collection
One more thing Robert your theory of a sticker covering the ruins can also be completely dismissed. How could a sticker pull up the lacquer in a nice neat uniform square area but completely miss the RZM stamp? Not one part of that stamp has been pulled up. It would be impossible for that to be the case.
NTZ, different views who cares but for sure not me. If I like the cap? I would say it when I like it but I don't and I talk about your stencil theories.
The stencil talk about the square mark on the visor underside was not implying this was an original process, but the sign of a forgery. I make a bet that with some masking tape and an exacto knife, I could make a stencil print similar to originals, which are often somewhat sloppy in appearance. If tape were applied to the underside of an original visor, I bet it wouldn't even discolor like this one. The ridiculously distorted shape of the sweat diamond is a giant red flag. I guarantee you they used some kind of template to trace the sweat shield before cutting them. This one looks like a GIANT clear plastic collar tab.

The tape thing is right on the money. I tried it tonight. I took a photo of a real RZM stamp and adjusted the photo to actual size. Then printed it to a sheet of labels. All I had to do is exacto out the stamp and bamm a perfect stencil ready for my favorite magic marker and visor.
ntz, put it on a visor and show us the ntz quality to compare it then finally with original markings
Yes, it would be interesting to see NTZ's stencil. I am looking forward to seeing those symetrically shaped ruins and the "R". Especially the rounded portion and the center section.
yes please let us see; maybe won't put the whole issue to rest but wd. be informative for sure... thanks in advance for your labors.
by the way (if this was covered earlier sorry; no time to read them all!) - but
why do nearly all visors have the cross-hatching on the bottom but a few do not?
and is this feature a sort of red flag for anyone - or are faked these days found withj both? I seem to recall quality repros (marked as such( in the 1980s with the cross-hatching. cheers.
