Which ones are bad? some of them look pretty good but nice to get

I think the runes under the sweat diamond should be gold. I don't like the off-white lining material. I don't like the RZM stamp on visor. Not a cap to stay awake at night over. If you bought it, you sure would have trouble sleeping, though!!!!

other opinions to help bolster expertise. The black allgemeine look textbook.

If your saying that the subject hat looks textbook, it really does, but it has subtle differences from original period hats. These have fooled a lot of collectors including some well known high end dealers.

Visor and Black allgeimeine uniform

My buddy doug pointed out that the initial analysis of any item is only as good as the pics that are posted of it. Aka, better pics, and a hands on eval, are the only way to form a definitive opinion of authenticity.

Peter from the guild has examined the cap and has given his stamp of approval, except for the insignia which has been post war replaced. I know that darek was searching at sos for an original matching eagle and skull ,with little or no success.

The black allgemeine tunic on his site has also been checked out by peter and passed with flying colors.

As to the other uniforms, I too was curious to find out which ones were suspect? Antony, can you elaborate?

SS Cap

Look at the side photo, and the cap looks like it was made a few months ago, and then look at the sweatband. Neither the sweatband, nor the oilcloth top condition match the outside of the cap. The SWEAT DIAMOND is a joke. Show me just ONE example of an original sweat diamond that is this asymetrical. It's shaped like a collar tab !! Sweat diamonds were most likely made using a template. These are just a few ghosts residing in this cap, and I don't think any of them are German.

The cap is crap IMO and I don’t care who likes it, they can buy it. Look at the ruins on the visor, they are wrong. I don’t like the foiling and shield either. Compare this one to the one just posted that had no markings and it looks to be from the same source. JM2C

Am I the only one wondering why there is a discoloration right where the RZM stamp is?
