JR because of your own PR campaign that started on GDC your name gained a reputation.

The quality items dealers and dealers who have no website sell get high praise and thus the name is advertised World wide almost free at that on these forums..what we dont hear about are returns, refunds etc. and when a disgruntled buyer posts often it gets swept under or deleted or sugar coated check out the Allgemeine SS Visor thread on the headgear forum..money returned but the buyer gets called names in an ugly exchange.

Remember N&T Global ? The firm that drew high praise from many on GDC 8 years ago..the owner could do no wrong and the "experts" in SS cloth refused to share opinion of his wares in public yet they also defended his reputation as a dealer deleting my posts and the sheep followed right behind them attacking me and berating me for calling him to task. Then even a MAX certified uniform expert took up his cause as a "consultant".Now this guy has disappeared and taken peoples consignment items with him. Why should I trust people who consistantly fight to cover the truth..just because they are loved and held high in TR collecting? The MAX expert consultant disavows any connections and claims to have been used.

        Here's how it works..

1.Dealer/Expert is called to task on an item.

        2. Other experts dealers chime in with a "John Doe is so cool and has the best rep quit whining" reply
        3. 4 or 5 sheep echo this reply with an " I bought one perfect thing from John doe he is the greatest.
        4. The usual detractor adds a derogatory "youre a whiner or a bore".
        5. Original poster defends his post with a couple people who know him jumping in to help now.
        6. Moderator steps in and locks or deletes the thread with the usual "this has gone far enough" long before it has gone far enough.

This is the game we play here, Id love to see a forum where any dealer can be called to task and names mentioned without the lawsuit threats hanging overhead. Id have a field day. But that wont happen so Im retiring after this threads over..I was trying to but it resurfaced from the depths.

          Hey John,

its way too far in your blood. This thread will end, you'll be seeing something somewhere and have to reply. The only way to quit this stuff is to throw out the computer. Good Luck!

              NOOOOooooooo!

John Pic, are you joking I love reading your stuff. Many things you say hit a nerve and are truths many people will not even talk about face to face much less on a Forum. I have not much sympathy for Dealers and I love seeing them exposed when they are really rotten. And some of the stunts I have seen lately, seriously some people should be shipped to Singapore for a good caning! Did I mention I love my Forum? This place has killed some Dealers and killed many a Deal. Seriously, who really got on the N&T Global Trading site and thought that stuff was legit?

Uneducated collectors are much like a drunk without a lampost to lean against. The "quality" dealer provides that support because you want to buy and you have to trust someone and that appears to be the best option, whether it turns out that way or not. Many just want some items and don't have the time or knowledge to shop around. If you hook up with a "good" dealer you'll probably get mostly good items with an occasional clunker but your odds are better then buying yourself at a show or all around.

I think alot of people....more then will admit even in hindsight .....thought N and T was good stuff, simply because they didnt know any better, and, best, they were trusting their empire and wouldnt dare question that empire, like we see some people doing here as well to this day when it comes time for an honest assessment or someone asks a question about an item, somtimes the stuff is plain obviious, but still no replies or its like the info is protected or somthing. Even in 30 years stuff will pop out for sale from "original" collections as after shocks.....what? My collection is not real? It was nowhere near 1945?

I have no sympathy guys because unlike some of you who might take it lightly my proffession is a job thats alot different from the norm and i dont feel that these clowns deserve any of that hard earned cash, nor when they make a "mistake" should I have to be the one to pay in the long run because there are some of them that damn well know what theyre selling with intent.

Many of his items must be out there in collections someone thinks they are real...but it wont be long until they start to pop up at shows and are being offered as real and the Certified show experts wont say a darn thing to stop it.

John, why would they say anything? The more that is out there to resell over and over again, of course, it becomes original of the era WWII collectibles!!!

Can you imagine what it is going to be like in 25, 30 or 40 years from now? All the stuff today that is not good is going to be old, still not good, but out there duping people who want to believe.....look, its toned properly, the insignia is set in the way it is supposed to be, it even has that old smell! It HAS to be original! And to top it off we just found a huge warehouse with non-issued SS generals tunics!

I suppose you could do alot with skilled labour, original thread, materials and equipment and things to add smell or other wear and age. But thats nothing new and makes the forensic and historical part of this so important. The rest is up to what you belive or are prepared to belive most times, unless its got real provenance or of course was sold by Mr. X who has a good reputation so how could he ever be wrong? My money is safe!

What a great thread! You know what - in the end, it is your own knowledge and feel for an item. Sure, there are a lot of 5-10-20-30K visors and uniforms out there that are hyped and dead-wrong, but there are others in the same range that are right, rare, and worth the money. There is huge potential for the best items.

I bought a couple of very nice uniforms form Norbert (N&T) and have sent back bad items to the "gods" over the years; I guess that makes me agree with John and others that you should buy the item and not the reputation...

                            Regards,

                              Hello
I don't think fakes are going to survive much longer as " originals" in the future ( well 10 20 years from now) you will be able to buy " kits" at your local store to test the age of "things" , you own mini CSI . Until then , trust no one but your own instinct , we have the "gut feeling" for a reason , you know !!!.
                              Regards

Militaria is just a more aesthetically appealing bank account in this case.
