check Militaria magazine nr 255 OF OCTOBER 2006 page 27, picture at the top left.
The stamp on the zeltbahn reads :
          Instandgesetzt 1943
          Fa. Paul Gerhus, Wansdorf-Sudetengau,
          Kontrolle : III
So yes, stamps did exist and both SS and Wehrmacht ( and LW and KM) had repair factories.
          All cloth equipment/uniforms were repaired.
The Reitz factory had a special repair factory at Riga Latvia. Although they worked with forced labour there, they managed to restore/repair about 65 % of what was send to them.

And for all of you who might be interested on the zeltbahn subject, a new book is coming up next year that will bundle all known knowledge so far about the zeltbahn. And of course some so far unknown or undocumented features will be unveiled in it.

          Patience !
Just info:Warnsdorf is today Varnsdorf -town in nothern Czech republic.Thank you Werner for interesting shot!
          Regards Petr.

                Hello Guys,

I heard that only original SS oakleaf zelts have the
typical white borders in the camouflage (as shown
                on the picture)

Is this true, or do the reproductions also have this
                nowadays?

Would be interested in knowing the truth!

Assuming that only oak patterns have that missprint is not correct as also the plane tree and other patterns have that type of missprint. That occured when the different prints wouldn't be placed on the fabric in the exact area they were meant to be. It doesn't matter if that was in a machine (oak) or hand printing process (plane tree).

There are reproduction patterns that have that but not quite like the originals. You will also notice that in dot patterns for instance, although these haven't been used in zelt production.

                  Cheers

                      Zeltbahn book update

Well, we have some setbacks with our book.
The handling of the pictures turned out to be a real challenge..
next release date is scheduled for spring 2010

Believe me, it will be worth waiting !!
