I thought it was an aluminum 167, but I wasn't sure because of
all the corrosion and also, the pictures aren't of the best quality either.
Anyway, "M1/167" is correct, even if the "7" is not visible,
        (which is very possible).
I strongly think that all of the pieces here are ground dug originals,
but I would of course, have to see much more to be able to say, 100%.

        Best, Chris

Today I got the skull and eagle! The skull is a M1/52 (zinc or Kriegsmetall) and the eagle is an aluminium M1/167.

A collector from Germany wants to sell this stuff (sorry, he is not owner of a website). All of his items were ground dugs and original items in the past.

Buckles aren't my area of interest BUT may I ask why the manufacturer of both the bottom 2 buckes (being Hersteller 822) appears to have used different font sizes in the same year (1938) ? Surely a stamp wouldn't wear out that quickly ?

                            Cheers,Ian.

                              Ian,
I think there are 3 different font sizes for that year, rather than the stampings wearing out I would think there were 3 sets made, but JPR is the man to ask as this is his field

Thanks for that Gary, I guess buckles are different from metal cap sets where the same dies were used for years, even with faults and wear.

                                Cheers,Ian.
