GN58, could you please post a good close-up picture of the head of the eagle that is on your SS visor with the 499/41 skull?
I could be wrong, but going by the small pictures, I believe the skull and eagle are both, reproductions.
Thanks! ChrisLast edited by SScollector; 01-01-2006, 10:08 PM.

Donald,
Whenever you refer to "Gray" caps, this is what I think you're talking about, however, I believe you're referring to the gray-green covers, am I right?
Happy New Year to all of my fellow collectors!
Bob
Thank you for the above. By grey I mean field grey or earth grey as distinguished from black, actually. However, by grey I also mean the variety of field grey---the wide variation of same. Now that we have the Beaver book, I guess I do not mean earth brown, however. Sorry for any misunderstanding I may have inflicted on the innocent here.Last edited by Donald Abenheim; 01-02-2006, 04:02 AM.

John,
Stirndruckfrei equates to "Forehead pressure free" or no pressure on the forehead.
I believe your Pekuro cap used the extra line of black fabric to achieve this and many others used the red colored foam rubber - Schaumgummi - behind the front of the sweat band. There are probably other methods too.
It must have been a problem with these caps causing pressure on the front of the head (probably giving the wearers headaches)Last edited by TonyS; 01-02-2006, 11:24 AM.

A few random thoughts: 1) I don't think, from my experience with KM caps, that "free from forehead pressure" can be verified from a picture; the black liner can have sinister implications as well; 2) I do like the simple honesty of Tony2411's Riefkogel cap, and would very much like to own it; 3) colleague GN58's Kraftfahrer submission has apparent flaws, but the second cap seems intriguing - could you turn down the sweatband for a pic and give us another view of the sweatband front and a close-up of the sweatband stitching?
