for my five cents think also its a German complete repro (except of the insignias), reminds me with certain tunics I remember back from the 90's.

So, if I've understood correctly from this and the other thread, nobody can really say for certain about an SS tunic unless it's an obvious repro/ground up fake?

And the point I've been trying to make is that being unsure about SS tunics is just not good enough anymore..
I can see several cap specialists are reading this thread and I'm sure they would agree with me..

That alone is enough to give serious concern.

Yes and a good point . But as you see right off the bat it’s not easy. One persons trained eye might see something another does not. First impression for me was it looked basically ok after a few more looks I noticed the litze and the unusual sleeve liners which as others point out were common in faked tunics of the 90’s and also used to reline the shells of Heer tunics reworked into SS , I examined a couple examples like that from Manions auction, almost like the Alteste caps where period fabric and modern fabric are put together to form something reasonably convincing at first look .

There are one looker fakes but in this case anyone who claims “ one looker” was guessing. Maybe a three or four looker ????

Private tailored officer cut tunics did not use the belt hooks .

I see it's now "on hold", wonder who consigned all these uniforms?

The only thumbs up so far was for the sleeve eagle, so I guess $7995 for a sleeve eagle and the rest is a gamble.

Compare the rune tab with the one on this Janke tunic featured on the estand. Do they look similar ?
